Currently based in The Netherlands, L.H.Houniet is a master violinmaker who learnt his craft at the venerable Violinmaking College in Mittenwald.
After graduating in 1968 he spent some three months with Vladimir Pilar in the Czech Republic.
Thereupon he worked for three years with the renowned firm of J. and A. Beare in London.
L.H.Houniet is a member of the Entente Internationale des Maîtres Luthiers et Archetiers d’Art, a distinguished society of the best violin- and bowmakers of the world.
Since 2016 he aims to pass on his knowledge to a new generation of makers as well as researching the methods of construction and recreating the varnish, as used by the old masters of Cremona.
